Breaking the Silence Around Mental Illness
Since 2005, our district-level Psychological Health Clubs have opened conversations that used to stay behind closed doors.
Silence is not neutrality. In mental health, silence is often how shame travels from one generation to the next.
Monobikash Foundation began in 2005 with a simple insistence: people in Bangladesh deserve language, company, and care for the mind — not only for the body.
Clubs as doorways
Psychological Health Clubs are not lecture halls. They are rooms where a district can practise speaking about fear, grief, addiction, and family strain without the story being used against anyone.
A conversation in public does not replace clinical care. It does something clinical care cannot do alone: it makes the next person less alone before they ever ask for help.
What changes when we talk
- Neighbours stop calling illness “weakness”
- Families notice earlier
- Young people hear that their minds are allowed to struggle
- Care becomes a community habit, not a last resort
If you want to start or join a club, write to us. A sound mind is easier to protect when it does not have to hide.
